Field & James recorded I Get The Best Of You in a matter of three hours, thus creating one of the purest recordings around in the last few years – pure in terms of no overdubbing, remixing or artistic trickery.

The title song, as well as Road We’re On have my full appreciation.  Find Your Way Home reveals undertones of Here Comes My Baby (by Cat Stevens, but even more so of the hit version by The Tremeloes).  In contrast, James Eisele delivers a moving performance of Drink You Off My Mind, as if he found someone to talk to in his favorite pub owner.  Beautiful indeed!
